Hereford Kitchen

Hereford Kitchen

Handcrafted in our Turin and Molveno collection, painted in 'Hercules 150' to complete the modern aesthetic. Nickel bar handles were styled throughout the kitchen, and Quartz was chosen for the worktops and splash back.

Full of character

The Hereford Kitchen was designed for a charming, historical family home. Built before the 1900s, the original structure is full of character, and remarkably, some of the original bricks still bear the finger grooves of the builders who laid them, a small but lovely reminder of the home's long history.

To complement this historic charm, our clients added a stunning extension to the back of the house, creating a spacious open-plan living area where their beautiful bespoke kitchen now sits. The brief was to design a space that honoured the home's heritage while still feeling fresh and suited to modern family life, striking a balance between the old and new with materials and finishes that sit comfortably alongside the original brickwork.

A clean and polished look

The Hereford Kitchen is a unique hybrid, combining ideas from two of our modern collections, Turin and Molveno. Our clients loved the sleek, push-to-open look of the Turin collection, but still wanted the depth and detail that handles can bring. Our solution was to blend the two styles together, giving them the best of both worlds, a kitchen that feels contemporary, yet still rich in detail and craftsmanship.

One of the standout bespoke features is the full-height cabinetry. Rather than leaving the usual gap between the top of the units and the ceiling, our clients wanted the cabinetry to run the full height of the wall. This custom approach not only maximises storage but also gives the kitchen a wonderfully seamless finish.

The cabinetry was finished in 'Hercules 150', a deep navy blue that brings a bold presence to the space. Set against the bright, airy room, the dark cabinetry creates a striking contrast, making the kitchen feel both expansive and intimate at once. The richness of the colour adds a real sense of luxury, while the clean, modern lines of the cabinetry keep the overall look sleek and polished.

This kitchen honours the home's historic roots while giving the family a contemporary space to enjoy for years to come. Scroll through our gallery to explore the Hereford Kitchen further and book a design consultation with us if you are wanting to start your own kitchen project.

What our clients say

"We had a great experience working with the whole team at Minerva Design. With the rise in building costs during our building extension we didn't think we could afford a bespoke Kitchen. However they respected our budget and found solutions to suit our needs and our space. The result is very impressive."
