Shaker Style Kitchens: Meet The Collections

15th January 2024

We have five different Shaker style kitchen collections, all inspired by the traditional design with a few aesthetic differences.

The Shaker kitchen design is favoured throughout interior design for its timeless aesthetic and simple, clean cabinetry.

WHERE DID 'SHAKER STYLE' COME FROM?

Shaker style comes from the Shakers, a Christian community that began in Manchester, England, in 1747 and settled in New York State in 1776. Their furniture-makers stripped away ornament and built for use and longevity. That plain, recessed-panel door was rediscovered by modern designers in the 1930s and went on to become the Shaker kitchen we know today.

OUR COLLECTIONS

Here at Minerva, we understand that everyone's taste and style are different, so we have created four kitchen collections, all inspired by the traditional shaker design with a few differences to ensure there is something for everyone. Keep reading to discover our Shaker collections and find which is best for you.

FERRARA

Our Ferrara collection is our traditional Shaker style kitchen design, with its crisp, uncluttered lines and simple cabinetry. The design may be simple, but there is much more than meets the eye, especially when you open the cabinets. By integrating appliances, we can hide modern technology behind this iconic design.

BOLOGNA

Our Bologna collection is inspired by the classic design. The pencil beading outlines the doors and drawers, adding a touch of elegance to the traditional shaker kitchen, making it our most popular collection. We stand by the shaker concept as this added feature keeps the design simple and easy to look after. Perfect for those looking for an elegant Shaker kitchen design.

FLORENCE

Our Florence Collection; this kitchen design features our Georgian-style bolection moulding on the front of the kitchen cabinetry. This small addition completely changes the characteristics of this classic shaker and gives the Florence collection its signature flourish.

VERONA

Verona begins with Ferrara, our classic Shaker, and refines it. Smooth slab drawer fronts sit alongside Shaker doors, each detailed with a fine line of pencil beading framing the recessed door. It's that pairing of flat, modern drawers with detailed, traditional doors that gives Verona its luxurious, layered look. The beading adds texture and a sense of quality without taking over, so the design stays clean and considered. That measured detailing lets Verona move easily between traditional and contemporary homes, sitting comfortably in either.

SORRENTO

Sorrento bridges two worlds. Its frameless construction, the doors set over the cabinet rather than within a face frame, gives it the clean and minimal lines of a modern kitchen. But the doors themselves are Shaker design bringing the warmth, depth and character of a traditional design.
