A sociable and family-oriented space

The Birley Kitchen was handcrafted to create a space that's sociable, family-oriented, and perfectly suited to both cooking and entertaining. The transformation from its original state is so striking that the room is almost unrecognisable. Among the most significant changes was the addition of bi-fold doors, replacing what was once a small, restrictive window. These expansive doors now open straight out onto the garden, flooding the kitchen with natural light and creating a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living.

As our client has a real passion for cooking, getting the design of the kitchen island just right was essential. It features a generous breakfast bar, offering plenty of room for family and friends to chat, eat, and relax while meals are being prepared, ensuring the cook never feels cut off from the rest of the household or their guests. Acting as a true multifunctional hub, the island works just as well for casual breakfasts as it does for more elaborate dinner parties.

Bringing family together

Opposite the island, we crafted and fitted a run of Shaker cabinetry that our clients have since turned into the perfect drinks station. On one side, an integrated fridge keeps beverages perfectly chilled, while a tall larder on the other offers plenty of storage, complete with oak spice racks, shelving, and drawer boxes. Painted in 'Pluto 020', a modern grey, the cabinetry beautifully complements the oak features throughout, striking a lovely balance between contemporary style and natural charm. As well as being a visual delight, this drinks station is a genuinely practical addition, ideal for both entertaining and everyday use.

Further features, including state-of-the-art appliances and clever storage solutions, make this a dream kitchen for any home cook. The layout has been designed to maximise efficiency, with everything kept within easy reach, turning meal preparation into a pleasure rather than a chore. Together, these practical touches and stylish design elements come together to create a kitchen that's every bit as functional as it is visually stunning. Overall, kitchen is a space that brings people together, sparks creativity, and adds to the joy of cooking and entertaining.
