Carey Kitchen
Handcrafted Molveno collection, painted 'Hercules 150' with oak bar handles. Mixed worktops combine oak hardwood on the island and granite on perimeter cabinetry.
A cottage reimagined
The Carey Kitchen was handcrafted for a charming cottage nestled in the heart of the Herefordshire countryside. Surrounded by breathtaking views and a wonderfully peaceful setting, it is the kind of property that instantly captures your heart, and we were absolutely thrilled to be trusted with such a special project. From the very beginning it was clear that this kitchen was going to be something a little out of the ordinary, and it did not disappoint.
The kitchen was crafted in our Molveno collection, one of our modern ranges featuring clean, smooth cabinetry with a beautifully minimalistic aesthetic. The cabinetry is painted in 'Hercules 150', a richly toned navy from our bespoke paint palette that brings a bold presence to the space. It is the kind of colour that commands attention without ever feeling overbearing, filling the kitchen with a sense of depth and personality that feels entirely at home within the character of the cottage. To complement this striking shade, the cabinetry is adorned with bar handles in oak, an unexpected but inspired choice that softens the boldness of the navy and tying the whole design together beautifully.

A striking feature
One of the most striking features is the extraordinary splashback behind the oven, a vibrant mosaic of coloured glass pieces handcrafted by a close friend of our clients. It is an incredibly personal touch that brings a genuine sense of art and individuality to the space, and with LED lighting installed behind it, the effect is simply breathtaking. The colours come alive under the light, creating a dazzling focal point that stops everyone in their tracks and serves as a constant reminder of the creativity and warmth that runs through this entire project.
Equally impressive are the pair of tall larders positioned on either side of the original stone wall. Our skilled craftsmen meticulously scribed each larder to follow the exact contours of the stone, resulting in a seamless and beautifully crafted feature that looks as though it has always been there. It is the kind of detail that takes real skill and patience to achieve, and the result never fails to amaze anyone who sees it for the first time.
The worktops were chosen with the same spirit of creativity that defines the rest of the design. A rich oak hardwood worktop crowns the kitchen island, its warm and natural grain creating a beautiful contrast against the sleek, modern cabinetry. The main run is finished in Granite, a naturally stunning material with rich veining and depth of colour that pairs perfectly with the oak and adds a further layer of texture and character to the space. Together, every element of this kitchen comes together to create a harmonious blend of historical charm and contemporary design, a space that honours the character of the cottage while providing a modern and deeply personal haven for the whole family.
