A compelling design
Our client's barn conversion underwent a significant transformation to bring this open plan kitchen and dining room to life. Integrating a modern design into a building with this much existing character is never straightforward, but that tension between old and new is precisely what makes the finished result so compelling. The space feels considered without ever losing sight of what the building is and where it has come from. White walls and large glass doors were central to making the layout work, keeping the room feeling open and generous, drawing in natural light throughout the day and preventing the space from feeling enclosed despite its original agricultural bones. That brightness was essential in balancing the dark navy of the cabinetry, which in a dimmer room might have felt heavy but here sits with real confidence.
The cabinetry itself is where the design makes its boldest statement. The deep navy tones brings a sense of sophistication to the room, grounded by the warmth of the natural wooden materials used throughout. The result is a space that feels entirely at home within its surroundings while being unmistakably a kitchen that our clients and us are genuinely proud of.
