A versatile space

The design brief for the Eaton Bishop Kitchen was to create a versatile space that supports family life during the day while providing an elegant setting for entertaining in the evening. We are delighted with the outcome, which balances practicality and sophistication, resulting in a kitchen that feels equally suited to busy weekday routines and gathering with family and friends. A defining feature of this project is the kitchen’s unique upstairs location, making it the true heart of the home. Elevated above the main living spaces, it enjoys stunning views whilst connecting the rest of the home.

This distinctive positioning naturally creates a warm and welcoming hub where everyday life unfolds. A generous central island provides a natural focal point, while integrated storage solutions keep the kitchen organised and clutter-free. The result is a beautifully considered space that combines functionality, comfort, and timeless style at the centre of the home.

At the centre of the Eaton Bishop Kitchen stands the island, the kind of feature that quietly holds a home together. It shifts effortlessly through the rhythms of the day, from a breakfast perch for the kids in the morning, to a flour-dusted baking station filled with laughter in the afternoon. When school bags come through the door, it becomes the ideal place to spread out books and laptops, keeping homework within arm's reach while dinner is being prepared nearby.

As the evening settles in, the island takes on a more refined role. Whether it's a relaxed family dinner or a gathering of friends, it provides the perfect setting. That ability to adapt, hour by hour, is what makes it such an indispensable part of this kitchen. The cabinetry was handcrafted in our Bologna Collection, a detailed Shaker style finished in 'Pluto 020', a grey from our extensive colour palette that brings a contemporary edge.
