Softening the boldness

Situated within a beautifully finished newly built home, the Prior Frome Kitchen is a striking example of what can be achieved when bold design choices are executed with exceptional craftsmanship. Handcrafted in our Bologna collection, the kitchen showcases the intricate pencil beading of the Shaker cabinetry at its very finest, with every detail speaking to the quality and care that goes into each and every Minerva kitchen. The cabinetry is painted in a bespoke deep, rich green that commands attention from the moment you enter the room, creating an atmosphere that feels both dramatic and deeply inviting.

To soften the boldness of the green and introduce a sense of natural warmth, our client wanted to incorporate organic elements that would break up the cabinetry run in a thoughtful and considered way. Natural oak drawer fronts, left unpainted and finished with a clear lacquer to preserve their beautiful grain, were woven throughout the design as carefully placed accents that catch the eye and invite you to look closer. The contrast between the deep green paintwork and the warm tones of the oak is quite simply stunning, each element bringing out the best in the other. Together they create a kitchen that feels layered and textures.

Innovative storage

While our clients adored their striking green cabinetry, they wanted to push the design even further by introducing a rich, deep purple as a secondary tone, creating a truly one-of-a-kind colour palette that is entirely their own. This vibrant and unexpected hue was painted on the inside of the countertop cupboard, where it reveals itself to anyone who opens the doors. It is the kind of detail that sparks conversation and brings a smile, a small but perfectly considered touch that speaks volumes about the personality and creativity of the clients who called this kitchen their own.

The kitchen island is a true centrepiece in every sense of the word, designed to adapt effortlessly to the many demands of modern family life. Whether it is being used for baking, food preparation, working from home or hosting friends and family, the island rises to every occasion with ease. Innovative and integrated storage solutions give it a unique edge, ensuring that the space beneath and around the island is never wasted and that everything our clients need is always close to hand.

Faced with the delightful dilemma of choosing between our countertop cupboard and our freestanding larder, our clients made the very sensible decision to have both. The freestanding larder is a beautiful and practical addition to the kitchen, featuring oak shelving, generously sized oak drawer boxes and an oak spice rack that keeps everything organised, accessible and wonderfully easy to navigate. The oak elements within the larder tie beautifully back to the natural drawer fronts found throughout the rest of the kitchen, reinforcing that sense of cohesion that runs through the entire design.

Every detail of the Prior Frome Kitchen was designed and crafted with care, precision and a genuine desire to bring our clients' vision to life in the most beautiful way possible.
