Finding the perfect green

This kitchen was lovingly handcrafted as part of a renovation project, in which our client opened up the space by removing an internal wall to create a more open and airy layout. The transformation allowed natural light to flow freely throughout the room, giving the kitchen a sense of space and freedom that simply was not there before. From the outset, our client had a clear sense of what they wanted, a design that felt personal, considered and full of character, and we were delighted to help bring that vision to life.

Our client had always dreamed of a green kitchen but had struggled to find a shade that felt truly right. That all changed during a visit to our Stratford-upon-Avon showroom, where they spotted a kitchen island painted in the stunning Ceres 210. The vibrant yet earthy tone stopped them in their tracks, and in that moment they knew they had found exactly the colour they had been searching for. It was one of those rare and wonderful instances where everything simply clicks into place, and from there the design began to take shape with real excitement and confidence.

Visually captivating

With their dream green selected, our expert kitchen designer Kevin proposed a sophisticated two-tone colour palette to enhance the depth and dimension of this beautifully light-filled space. The perimeter cabinetry is painted in the softer, lighter tone, while the kitchen island commands attention as a striking centrepiece in the deeper, more dramatic shade. The contrast between the two greens brings a real sense of depth and personality to the room, creating a space that feels considered and layered rather than one-dimensional. It is a palette that manages to feel both bold and timeless, a combination that is far harder to achieve than it might appear.

The Southrop Kitchen is a true showcase of classic design and thoughtful craftsmanship, where every element has been chosen with both beauty and practicality in mind. A countertop cupboard with bi-folding doors and oak shelving sits seamlessly in the far corner of the room, making brilliant use of what could easily have been an awkward space. A tall larder cupboard, fitted with oak shelving and two spice racks, provides generous and well-organised storage while adding warmth and character through its exquisite detailing and premium materials. The oak elements running throughout bring a natural richness to the design, softening the depth of the greens and adding a layer of texture that feels entirely at home in this light and inviting kitchen.

Together, these bespoke touches ensure that the space is as practical as it is beautiful, making the Shaker kitchen a true reflection of our client's unique taste and our unwavering dedication to quality craftsmanship.
