A kitchen refresh

Our clients had a deep affection for their original kitchen, yet they sensed that something essential was missing from the space. Eager to breathe new life into their beloved area, they decided to refresh their cabinetry with a stunning new coat of paint. Seeking to elevate the kitchen even further, they approached us to design a magnificent statement island that would perfectly complement this beautiful environment.

Their home, a traditional Georgian house, is full of natural light and offers an abundance of space, making it an ideal backdrop for a thoughtful redesign. Given its classic architecture, our Florence collection emerged as the perfect choice for their island. This collection’s signature style, featuring exquisite Georgian-style moulding, aligns beautifully with the home’s historic charm, creating a seamless blend of old and new that feels inherently right.

Cohesive in every corner

The Florence island was designed to do a great deal without making a fuss about it. Storage runs through it generously, integrated appliances sit where they are most needed, and the worktop offers the kind of space that makes cooking for a family feel manageable. But beyond the practicalities, it has become the natural gathering point of the room, the place where everyone ends up, whether a meal is being prepared or not.

The project extended beyond the kitchen, a matching vanity unit was designed for the downstairs bathroom, finished in the same style and with the same Georgian moulding that defines the island. It is a detail that most visitors might not consciously notice, but one that gives the home a sense of coherence. When the same care and language runs through more than one room, the whole house feels more considered as a whole.

The result is a home that feels revived. The existing Shaker cabinetry, refreshed and sitting alongside the new island, looks as though it was always meant to be this way. Tradition and practicality, old and new, brought together in a way that feels completely natural and built to be enjoyed for a long time to come.
