Industrial Chic

Tucked away within the Shucknall Court estate, Cowhide is one of the beautifully restored buildings, offering a stylish and comfortable place for wedding guests to stay. Once a working cowshed, the building's history is honoured in its name, while inside it has been transformed into warm, characterful accommodation with all the comfort today's guests expect. The brief was to create a space that felt both fitting for a grand estate and genuinely special for the people staying in it.

At the heart of the cottage is the modern kitchen, handcrafted in our Milan collection. Whether guests are sharing breakfast before the big day, enjoying a glass of fizz while getting ready, or catching up with loved ones after the celebrations, it's where some of the best memories are made. The transformation took nine months from start to finish, with every detail considered to make sure the building's past was respected while its future as guest accommodation felt effortless.

Considered Details

What makes Cowhide work so well as wedding accommodation is the thought that has gone into the kitchen design. The Milan kitchen was designed and handcrafted as a generous, sociable space that can comfortably cater for a full house of guests, with plenty of worktop space for everything from breakfast plates and coffee to champagne glasses and late night snacks. The cabinetry provides plenty of storage while being practical enough to cope with a busy weekend, keeping everything close at hand without making the space feel cluttered.

The striking worktop adds warmth and character to the room, while being durable enough for everyday use. Just off the kitchen, the white utility keeps washing up, laundry and extra storage out of sight, helping the main space stay calm and inviting. Every detail has been considered to make the kitchen feel like a natural place to cook, gather and spend time together. Take a look through the gallery to see more of the contemporary details.
