A kitchen restoration

Our clients had only been living in their home for a few years when it became clear that the original kitchen was no longer meeting their needs. The layout lacked flow between key workstations, making cooking and everyday tasks feel disjointed and inefficient. As a result, the space simply wasn't supporting the way they wanted to live and use their kitchen.

They also found themselves in desperate need of additional workspace to better accommodate their lifestyle. When they came to us for help, we were excited to take on the challenge and transform the room into a kitchen that was not only highly functional but also a pleasure to use every day.

Timeless simplicity

Due to the room’s long, narrow proportions, our designer and client chose to retain the original U-shaped layout. This classic configuration makes the most of the available space, creating an efficient workflow and ensuring that every area of the kitchen is easily accessible. While the layout remained familiar, the overall design was completely transformed through thoughtful planning and carefully selected materials. To prevent the room from feeling enclosed, we avoided wall-to-wall cabinetry and instead incorporated painted open shelving throughout the space with LED lighting. This approach maintains a sense of openness while providing practical storage and display opportunities, resulting in a light, airy kitchen with generous worktop space which was exactly what our clients had envisioned.

The timeless simplicity of the Shaker style perfectly complements the character of the home, while the exceptional craftsmanship ensures a kitchen that is both beautiful and built to last. Every cabinet was carefully designed to maximise storage without compromising the feeling of space, creating a seamless balance between form and function.

To further enhance practicality, we introduced a countertop cupboard featuring practical bi-fold doors and warm oak shelving. This classic feature provides the perfect home for everyday essentials, allowing appliances, crockery and pantry items to be neatly tucked away while remaining within easy reach. By keeping frequently used items hidden from view, the worktops remain clear and uncluttered, contributing to the calm and organised feel of the room.

The combination of bespoke design, handmade cabinetry and intelligent storage solutions has created a kitchen that exceeds our clients’ expectations in every way. If you are looking to transform your kitchen space, book a design consultation with one of our designers today.
