Colwall Green Kitchen
Handcrafted in our classic Shaker collection Ferrara with integrated appliances and a statement island, painted in ‘Nemesis 260’ from our colour palette.
A kitchen that connects
This was a full kitchen replacement, and the brief called for something that could hold its own while opening straight into the dining room, so it needed to feel considered from every angle, not just front on. The classic Shaker style was the natural fit, it’s crisp, uncluttered lines have endured for hundreds of years precisely because they sit comfortably in almost any setting, formal or relaxed. The layout is a tall U shaped design finished with a canopy, giving the room a real sense of height and structure, and practical too, since it wraps storage and worktop around three sides without ever feeling boxed in. Behind those classic Shaker fronts we've integrated the appliances, keeping the design calm rather than cluttered.
The cabinetry itself is finished in ‘Nemesis 260’, a deeper, more confident tone from our palette. To stop that darker colour from feeling heavy in a room that opens onto the dining space, we designed the kitchen island with an integrated bookcase, breaking up the cabinetry and softening the overall look. It's a small detail with a big effect. The island reads less like a solid block and more like a considered piece of furniture, tying the kitchen and dining room together rather than dividing them.

An efficient layout
Tucked inside the larder is a bespoke spice rack, designed so everything has its place and stays within easy reach while cooking. It is a small addition that makes a real difference, taking the rummaging out of the everyday and letting the kitchen work the way it is actually used. Jars and packets that would normally get lost at the back of a cupboard are now visible at a glance, so cooking becomes less about searching and more about simply getting on with it.
The same thinking carries into the corners, where smooth pull out storage makes use of space that would otherwise go to waste. Even the deepest reaches of the Shaker cabinetry stay accessible, keeping the whole layout efficient, clutter free and easy to live with. It is the kind of detail that goes unnoticed on a good day and becomes invaluable on a busy one, when everything you need is already within reach rather than buried behind something else.
