A strategic decision

The original layout of the room posed a few challenges for our clients, feeling a little cramped for their growing family's needs, with limited space to cook, dine and gather comfortably under one roof. Recognising the potential for change, they made the strategic decision to move the utility wall back, opening up possibilities that simply weren't there before.

This thoughtful adjustment completely transformed the space, significantly improving the flow and functionality of the home. What was once a tight, awkward layout became light, open and easy to move through. The newly opened layout created ample room for both a spacious dining area and their beautiful new kitchen, giving the family a true hub to gather, cook and relax in the perfect setting for family gatherings and everyday living.

Practicality and creativity

One of the real standout features of this Shaker-style kitchen is the handcrafted larder cupboard. With a structural pillar sitting right in the space, we had to get creative and design the larder around it and what started as a challenge ended up inspiring a genuinely one-of-a-kind solution that adds real character to the kitchen.

That pillar led to shelving with two different depths, creating a clever and dynamic storage solution. One side of the larder is deeper, perfect for larger items, while the other features shallower shelving, ideal for keeping smaller essentials neatly organised. It's this thoughtful variation that makes the larder so special, a bespoke piece our clients adore, reflecting their style while working hard for their everyday storage needs. Every time they reach for a favourite ingredient or cooking tool, they're reminded of the unique design choices that make their kitchen feel that bit more special. It's this blend of practicality and creativity that not only boosts the kitchen's functionality but also gives it a personal touch.

The Frome Kitchen was painted in 'Terra 330', a warm, neutral shade that fills the space with an inviting feel. Its soft, earthy tones work beautifully with the kitchen, complementing the natural light and echoing the warmth of the surroundings. The result is a space that feels both open and intimate somewhere everyone wants to be, whether cooking, dining, or simply enjoying each other's company.

Altogether, this transformation has created a warm, welcoming kitchen where the family can come together, share meals, and make memories for years to come. If you are looking to start your own transformation you can request one of our brochures and get inspired.
