A countryside setting

Tucked away in the rolling Herefordshire countryside, the Howle kitchen feels right at home in its rural setting. Handcrafted in our Ferrara collection, a classic Shaker style rooted in traditional British cabinetry, this kitchen pairs understated elegance with everyday practicality.

The cabinetry is finished in 'Ceres 210', a soft, gentle green from our curated palette, chosen to echo the greens and earthy tones of the surrounding landscape and bring a quiet sense of calm to the space. Aged brass handles lend a warm, heritage feel, while 'Glacial Blue' granite worktops add a subtle contrast, their delicate natural veining catching the light beautifully.

A sanctuary of calm

Kate and Julian's journey to their dream kitchen has been one of patience and vision. For years, they imagined every detail, slowly shaping their ideal home on the edge of Ross-on-Wye. Surrounded by rolling hills and woodland, their new home is a sanctuary of calm, and the kitchen was always intended to be its heart. This year, the pieces finally fell into place, and we were delighted to bring their long-awaited dream to life.

At the centre of the space is a large, multi-functional island designed for practicality. With deep oak drawers offering generous storage and a sleek integrated hob, it's a cook's dream. The island also creates a natural gathering space, with comfortable seating positioned opposite the cooking area, ideal for relaxed breakfasts, lively weekend lunches, or an evening glass of wine.

One of the couple's favourite Shaker features is the bespoke countertop cupboard, carefully designed to house their morning essentials. Behind its elegant bi-folding doors lies a fully equipped breakfast station: mugs, glasses, teas, coffees, and even a microwave, all tucked neatly away yet easily accessible.

Elsewhere in the kitchen, the same attention to detail continues. A dedicated larder unit keeps everyday essentials close at hand, while pull-out racks and deep pan drawers were planned around how the clients actually cook, rather than simply how a kitchen should look. Soft-close doors and drawers throughout add a final layer of quality, the kind of detail that's felt rather than seen, but noticed every single day.

Natural light plays its part too, pouring in through windows that frame those rolling hills and woodland views, drawing the surrounding landscape into the heart of the home. It's a kitchen that feels as connected to its setting as it is to the people who use it. It's thoughtful touches like this that elevate the space beyond a kitchen and into something truly personal, a space for living, sharing, and creating memories for years to come.
