Pencombe Kitchen
Handcrafted in our Ferrara collection, painted in 'Silvanus 230' and 'Honus 060' with satin brass handles and finished with a classic Quartz worktop throughout.
Beautifully repurposed
Our clients live in a charming country home overlooking the picturesque Herefordshire countryside, a property they have been lovingly and carefully renovating over many years. Each space has been transformed with real thought and care, and when it came to the kitchen, they knew they wanted something truly special. They came to us with a clear vision and a few very real challenges, and we were absolutely delighted to take them on.
This part of the property had originally been an old lambing shed, beautifully repurposed over time but still presenting some unique design considerations. The biggest challenge was the lack of worktop space, something our clients had struggled with in their previous kitchen and were determined to resolve. Despite the compact size of the room, our design team approached the brief with enthusiasm and creativity, devising a peninsula layout that makes the very most of the available space. The peninsula provides generous worktop space for cooking and baking, something our clients had long dreamed of, while maintaining a natural and seamless flow through the room. It is a solution that feels entirely considered and completely at home within the character of this wonderful converted space, proving once again that the most interesting projects often come with the most rewarding challenges.

Every detail considered
The Pencombe Kitchen features a beautiful two-tone colour palette that brings real depth and brightness to the space. The upper cabinetry, bookcase and wall cabinets are finished in a soft and warm neutral that keeps the room feeling bright and airy, while the base cabinetry is painted in a rich earthy green that grounds the design and brings a real sense of depth and character to the space. The interplay between the two tones is subtle yet striking, giving the kitchen a layered feel that immediately sets it apart.
One of our favourite features of the design is the bespoke oak dining table, crafted to connect seamlessly to the edge of the peninsula. It is the kind of detail that transforms the way a kitchen is used, creating a natural and inviting spot for our clients to sit together over meals, keep each other company while cooking or linger over a cup of tea with friends. The kitchen genuinely becomes the heart of the home, and in this case that feeling comes effortlessly and naturally.
Tucked behind the kitchen door is another detail that we are particularly proud of, a custom-made bookcase handcrafted to fit the space perfectly. Our clients are passionate cooks with an impressive collection of cookbooks, and this clever solution makes brilliant use of an area that could so easily have been overlooked. Seeing their books displayed so beautifully within the kitchen itself adds a layer of warmth and personality to the space that no amount of styling could replicate. Paired with the timeless craftsmanship of the Ferrara collection, these thoughtful and personal touches come together to create a kitchen that feels completely unique, a perfect reflection of the people who live there and the home they have worked so hard to create.

What our clients say
"We are delighted with our new kitchen. Everything from the design to the beautiful finish is a pleasure to use. Given that we have a challenging old house, the kitchen has made a perfect addition. We love the green colour we chose for base units and also the lovely oak table Minerva made for us. The kitchen has quietly become a perfect hub to our home."
